Kilimanjaro was the first of the Seven Summits we would go after. I was fairly near to Alpine/High Altitude climbing so in all reality a six day hike up to a summit was a HUGE concept that I wasn't sure I was capable of achieving. We learned quickly that we were training properly as we crushed the summit and created relationships with our porters, guides, and a local orphanage that we were able to help by donating food, clothes, and school supplies.
Plus only one of us got high altitude sickness
This is a teaser from the first of the seven summits Kilimanjaro. We are climbing the seven summits to raise 1 million dollars for Cystic Fibrosis and the MTJM.org foundation. The film is being created by John Burkett of Red Tide Productions.
